Why This Trade Would Benefit The Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets are a team with championship aspirations and are ready to win now. If all players are not locked in, it is time to weed them out. The duo of Kevin Durant and James Harden is good enough to win the Eastern Conference and represent in the NBA Finals. If they were to add Zach LaVine, they would really be ready.
Brooklyn has a big three at the moment but it does not come without complications. In two games with the Nets, Harden is scoring 33 points per game. Kevin Durant has started 11 games and is averaging 30.6 points per game. In their first two games together, both Harden and Durant have scored 30 points each. This includes a 42-point performance from Durant in the duo’s debut.
Brooklyn had to give up a lot to acquire Harden. They parted ways with players like Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen, along with a ton of picks. LaVine and Carter Jr. would fit right in as replacements.
Brooklyn would also be able to gain three first-round picks in the deal. This would go a long way in replenishing assets lost. The Nets are in a position to make a deal such as this one because they already have Kevin Durant and James Harden in place. They are not relying on Irving at the moment and this could cause the team to move the point guard.
