Chicago Bulls Receive: Kyrie Irving
Brooklyn Nets Receive: Zach LaVine, Thaddeus Young, Wendell Carter Jr., 2022 1st Round Pick, 2024 1st Round Pick
Kyrie Irving has caused problems like this over the course of his NBA career. He forced his way out of Cleveland and did not last long with the Boston Celtics. After signing a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, Irving missed much of year one with an injury and is now causing issues here in year two.
Brooklyn gave up a ton of draft capital in the James Harden deal. This trade would get a pair of first-rounders back for them. They would also land Wendell Carter Jr. and Thaddeus Young along with Zach LaVine.
This is a large haul for a player who has not taken the floor in almost two weeks. Granted, Irving will be back in the lineup soon for the Nets, but there is only so much time off between injuries and personal hiatus that can be tolerated within reason.
Let’s take a look and see how this deal would help both sides right away in the 2020-21 NBA season.
