Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers were hurt in the NBA postseason last year at the point guard position. The lack of depth was one of the reasons they were unable to advance to the Western Conference Finals. This deal might not land them a traditional point guard but it would give them more help along the perimeter.
Paul George is off to a good start the season and is one of the few members of the Clippers shooting well from three-point range. The NBA is a league were teams rely on the three-point line all season and come the playoffs. The Clippers could use some more threats from beyond the arc.
This is where both Tucker and Gordon come in to play. Tucker has been one of the league’s best sharpshooters over the last couple years. Gordon is also a capable shooter but he has more of a complete guard which is something that Los Angeles needs.
The Clippers are extremely top-heavy with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard running the show. They will need to add some more quality players around them if they want to compete in the difficult Western Conference.
