Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have the best roster in the NBA right now. It is hard to take down the duo consisting of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The moves the front office made in the offseason show that they are not satisfied with just one ring.
Over the course of James’ career, his teams have made sure to put shooters around him to kick out to the perimeter. James can get to the basket whenever he wants and opposing defenses send three or four guys on him at any given time. This leaves the perimeter wide open and it has always benefited James to have shooters to kick out to.
Right now, the Lakers have some options but could use more. Valentine is an elite three-point threat and would thrive with the current offense of make up in Los Angeles.
The Lakers would not have to give up too much in this deal, other than Tucker, who they feel good about moving forward. When looking at the deal as a whole, it is worth it to part ways with Tucker for a shooter like Valentine.
