Devin Booker is one of the best scorers in the NBA. Despite having Booker, the Phoenix Suns have not been able to get to the postseason. They came up just short during the restart and this pushed them to make a deal. Could a trade for Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns push them over the top?
The Suns were invited to the NBA Bubble in Orlando. They went a perfect 8-0 during the preliminary games but still came up short of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. This led to a trade with the OKC Thunder to acquire Chris Paul. Early on, this duo has worked.
The Suns are off to a 7-4 start. Booker leads the team with 23 points per game while Paul is contributing 13.3 points and 8.7 assists per contest. Phoenix could look to turn their duo into a big three and add one of the elite big men in the NBA. Karl-Anthony Towns is the perfect fit.
Towns is signed to a long-term deal with the Timberwolves but they have have routinely been a terrible team. That doesn’t seem to have changed. This forced Minnesota to make moves for players like D’Angelo Russell. They were also able to win the NBA Draft lottery in 2020 and selected Anthony Edwards with the first-overall pick. Towns has not been discussed in NBA trade rumors for quite some time now but that does not mean that nothing will happen eventually.
This would create a huge stir in the Western Conference. We have seen many blockbuster deals already and this one could be next. Here is a deal that could land Towns in Phoenix.
