Why This Trade Would Benefit The Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks made some moves this offseason in hopes of building around Trae Young and contending right away. They are 5-5 so far this season and are getting great contributions from their young NBA stars. This is a chance for the team to continue to build and doing so by adding an elite center.

Nikola Vucevic is an extremely versatile player. He is shooting 44.2% from the three-point line this season. That fits right into what the Hawks like to do. They are a fast-paced offense that shoots a lot of threes. Vucevic is a pick-and-pop option on the perimeter along with Trae Young.

He would also open up John Collins in a dynamic frontcourt. The fact that Collins is not heading to the Orlando Magic in this deal means the Hawks should run to the phone to say yes.

The Hawks are desperate to compete and they made that clear. The franchise feels like they have a centerpiece to build around and this could lead to some more moves this year.
