Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks
The benefit for the New York Knicks would be simple in this deal. They have missed out on many big-name players that could help the franchise in recent years. During the offseason, the front office expressed interest in bringing on an undesirable contract of an impact player. They were unable to land one but could in a deal such as this.
Bradley Beal is a franchise-changing player. Last season, he averaged a career high 30.5 points per game and is off to a good start once again. Beal is scoring 34.9 points per contest this season on 49.4% shooting from the field.
The Knicks need a player that is going to come in and make an immediate impact. They have some nice young pieces but are lacking that superstar presence that is needed for teams in the NBA. Beal could be that player this year and in the future.
At 27-years old, Beal has plenty of good years left and could spend them in Madison Square Garden. Knicks’ fans do not like the idea of trading away any of their pieces for the future but they should have no problem giving up what they are in this one.
