The New Orleans Pelicans are getting one of the best scorers in the NBA in this trade so the benefit is clear. New Orleans could build a big three within their roster if they were able to land a deal like this one. This is a chance for the franchise to take the next step towards building a winner.
New Orleans sent Anthony Davis to Los Angeles and acquired many pieces. This included young players and draft picks. Here is a chance for the front office to make a splash of their own to acquire a star and they would be able to use some of those assets.
All three first-round picks sent to the Wizards would be from the Lakers. Lonzo Ball was one of the players sent to New Orleans in the Anthony Davis trade. Teaming up Bradley Beal with Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson would go a long way towards climbing up the standings in the Western Conference.
The Pelicans celebrated during the draft lottery in 2019 when they won the Williamson sweepstake. They signed Ingram long term and could complete the trifecta by making that blockbuster deal for a proven superstar.
