Why This Trade Would Benefit The Cleveland Cavaliers

With the current state of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ franchise, Kevin Love is not a player that fits into their plan. He is a 32-year old forward in a young-guard drive league. Love would fit in well with a win-now team. That is what the Cavaliers were when he was originally traded there and it is not what they are now.

In return, the Cavaliers would get help on the perimeter. It begins with Marcus Morris. He is a big-time scorer who could step in and be one of the best players in Cleveland right away. Morris signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Clippers this offseason.

Both Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley would be helpful on and off the court. They have plenty left in the tank and could act as leaders for players like Collin Sexton. This is a trade that would send away a veteran and add some players that could help right away.

The Cavaliers have a core but have plenty of work to do. This is a deal that would point them in the right direction moving forward.
