This Nets-Wizards trade swaps Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook

The Brooklyn Nets are not off to the start they expected this season and it is because of the absence of one of their NBA superstars. Kyrie Irving has missed the last four games because of personal reasons. This has been one of the reasons why the Nets currently sit at 5-6, the same record as the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks.

When Irving plays, he is one of the top point guards in the NBA. In seven games, Irving is averaging 27.1 points and 6.1 assists on 50.4% shooting from the field. He has missed the previous four games and there are not many reports coming out of Brooklyn on the situation.

The lone rumor is that Irving missed a game because he “just did not want to play.” Irving has had incidents in the past and this has to be a bit of a red flag for the Nets moving forward as they attempt to compete for an NBA title.

At what point do the Nets get tired of these antics and decide to shake things up a bit? Making a trade involving Irving would completely shake up the league and send a message. One of the most interesting storylines would see Kevin Durant reunite with one of his old teammates.

We are talking about Russell Westbrook of the Washington Wizards. Westbrook knows a thing or two about being traded throughout his career. This would send him to a contender rather than playing for a rebuilding team in Washington.

After all of the drama that ensued when Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors, it would be extremely entertaining to see Russell Westbrook sent to the Brooklyn Nets. Here is a deal that could potentially get it done.
