Now, this would be some kind of trade that the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves could potentially pull off and while it is strictly hypothetical, there are some intriguing pieces to this trade for both organizations.

Entering his sixth season with the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has made two NBA All-Star appearances and made the All-NBA team for the 2017-18 season and was extremely durable up until the back-half of last season when he suffered a wrist injury. After playing in just 35 games last year, Towns entered this season fully healthy until suffering a hard fall against the Utah Jazz in Minnesota’s second game of the season and injuring his wrist again.

Towns missed 7 games with this injury and is now back and healthy for the Timberwolves, but given their lack of success over the years with him as the face of their franchise, could he potentially be wanting a new change of scenery? All he knows at the NBA level is losing and after a while, this definitely has to take a toll on him.

Boston could be a great fit for the 26-year old All-Star, especially given their lack of talent in the frontcourt and at the center position for years now. Next to Jayson Tatum, they could be one of the greatest “one-two” punches in the entire league, but the Celtics may not be too keen on giving up Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker.

Jaylen Brown is having an NBA All-Star caliber season next to Jayson Tatum this year and this young duo in Boston is getting better and better each and every year they play together in the league. It is just a matter of time until this duo is able to do something special and bring this franchise to the NBA Finals, but the question that remains is if the Celtics are willing to wait and see if this is possible.

Kemba Walker on the other side of things has dealt with some lingering knee issues throughout the offseason and through the start of this season, as he received some treatment in the offseason. He has yet to make his season debut and his injury concerns have casted some doubt on his future in Boston, as his name has popped up a lot in trade rumors recently.

If the Celtics were able to move Kemba Walker and ultimately trade away Jaylen Brown for Karl-Anthony Towns, it may cause some limitations with their franchise in terms of their play-style, but at the end of the day, it also changes a lot of things for the better. It is unlikely a trade like this happens, but in the end, both teams could benefit in different ways from this blockbuster NBA trade scenario.
