Why This Trade Would Benefit The Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have been at a crossroads all offseason. They could have decided to blow up the roster and rebuild quickly or make a deal for an NBA star and go for it. They have not made a deal for any big name which means the team could be looking to go in the opposite direction.

This is where a trade with the Knicks could help. First, they would be landing NBA Draft capital. The Magic would get two first-round picks from the Dallas Mavericks in this deal. Nikola Vucevic would still be on the roster, which is helpful because he is their franchise player.

Both Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr. are not getting the chance to produce for the Knicks so they could grow as players on a different team. It would be a bit surprising to see the Magic trade away three players like this but nothing is impossible.

The Magic are a team that is looking to improve the course of their franchise. They are in a bit of a limbo right now but that could change if they add draft capital and some young players for the future.
