3 intriguing trade targets for Wizards after Thomas Bryant’s injury

The Washington Wizards suffered a big blow to their roster when their starting center, Thomas Bryant, was announced that he would be forced to miss the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season with a torn ACL. While the Wizards could just roll with who they have, they could also look to the trade block to add some help.

Bryant was off to a hot start through the team’s first ten games and was enjoying career highs in points per game (14.3), rebounds per game (6.1), and assists per game (1.5). Bryant was a bright spot on a rather weak Wizards team, but now he will have to be replaced.

There are some solid free agents the Wizards could opt to sign, but their best bet is to trade for a center that could compliment Bryant’s ability next season as well. The Wizards could use Bryant’s injury as an excuse to acquire a new center and if he plays well could keep him around next season as well.

While this situation obviously isn’t ideal for the Wizards, there is a glass half full approach that could be taken. They needed a more reliable center to team up with Thomas Bryant anyways, and now is a good time to try and do just that.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three players the Washington Wizards could trade for to help ease the pain of Thomas Bryant’s absence.
