3 intriguing trade targets the Indiana Pacers could pursue

Injuries and lack of success have defined the Indiana Pacers over the years, making the 2020-21 NBA season critical for this organization. Things have not gone their way over the last few seasons but if this team can remain healthy, the Indiana Pacers could be a legit team in the Eastern Conference.

Early on though, the injury bug has seemed to stay with this team as T.J. Warren is expected to be out until at least mid-February after having surgery on his foot and Jeremy Lamb has yet to play this season and is listed as “week-to-week” as he continues to recover from a torn ACL.

Losing Warren definitely hurts the Pacers as he was one of their breakout stars last season and was turning into one of their better players overall. After the NBA’s resumption of play in the Orlando Bubble, TJ Warren averaged 31.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and shot 52.4% from three-point range in six seeding games. He was named to All-Seeding Games First-Team as a result of his great play.

Some good news for the Pacers so far this season though is that Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis and Victor Oladipo all look healthy and good as new after dealing with injuries last season. All three guys are playing at high-levels and as a result, have led Indiana to an early 6-3 record.

While things have been successful for this organization so far, there is definitely some concern within this front office about the overall health of this team. Given their injury history, Brogdon, Sabonis and Oladipo could go down at any time and as a result with Warren already being sidelined, the Pacers could once again face the fate of losing in the first-round of the playoffs.

It could be best for the Pacers to look and trade for a star-level player near the trade deadline, especially if they are in a good position to make the playoffs already. Let’s take a look at three potential trade targets for the Indiana Pacers.
