Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Knicks Knicks
Marvin Bagley III was taken with the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He has been a consistent 14 point per game scorer early in his professional career and is averaging 11.8 so far this season. Regardless, it is hard to swallow when looking at the rest of the NBA Draft class as he was drafted before both Luka Doncic and Trae Young.
That is enough to leave a sour taste in any fan of the Kings. It would benefit Bagley to be sent away in a trade, where he could try to impress another fan base. The Knicks are a tough fan base to please but they are desperate for success and an electric player to root for.
If the Kings are able to land two players and two first-round draft picks, this deal seems like a no-brainer. He clearly isn’t going to become a franchise player in Sacramento and Richaun Holmes appears to be solidifying himself as a long-term frontcourt answer.
When it comes time to sit down and look at your roster, many people will have many different opinions. One thing that is hard to argue is the production of Bagley and how it has been a disappointment so far.
