Why This Trade Benefits The Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are right in the middle of the Eastern Conference at the moment. They eliminated in the first round last year by the Miami Heat. It will not get any easier as they could be in a position to lose Victor Oladipo sooner than later. This means they will have to reshape their roster to make up for the loss.

Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon are the future in Indiana. TJ Warren is another name who has looked like a productive scorer in the league. Myles Turner is a trade asset, if they want, because of his current ability and room to improve.

Turner is the perfect target for a team looking to take that next step towards competing. That is currently Dallas in the West. Indiana would get some needed help in return along the perimeter. This would make up for the loss of Oladipo.

The Pacers are trying to return to the form they were in during the early 2010’s, when they had Paul George and competing for conference titles. They do not seem to be too far away and a trade involving some big names could keep them moving in the right direction.
