Buddy Hield was one of the top names featured in NBA trade rumors throughout the offseason. Now that we are a week into the season, Hield is still a member of the Sacramento Kings but that could change moving forward. The New York Knicks could use a shooter on the perimeter.

New York entered the season as one of the worst shooting teams in the league. They have exceeded expectations during their 3-3 start by shooting 37.8% from deep as a team. Alec Burks, who is second on the team with 20.7 points per game, leads the team shooting 10-15 from deep early on.

R.J. Barrett needs to improve his outside shooting and fast. Barrett is shooting 24.1% from three and missed 22 straight at one point. Hield would help immediately by providing balance alongside each other.

Last season, Hield was moved to the bench in favor of Bogdan Bogdanovic. With the Atlanta Hawks signing Bogdanovic away in free agency, this forced the Kings to move back to Hield.

Early on in the season, Hield is shooting 37.7% from deep while averaging 16.7 points per contest, this is second on the team behind De’Aaron Fox. This is viewed as the backcourt of the future but they could make some changes if a deal presents itself.

The New York Knicks are a team that should have Buddy Hield on their radar. This is a deal that could work out for both sides in the near future.
