Both the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz are expecting to compete in the Western Conference this NBA season. Early on, they have both had their struggles and inconsistencies but that could change with one quick trade to reconfigure the supporting casts around Luka Doncic and Donovan Mitchell.
Dallas is in a position to build around Luka Doncic for years to come. He quickly became one of the best players in the league and is one of the favorites to win the NBA MVP this season. Early on, Doncic is averaging 24.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.
The Mavericks made a big splash last January when they acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the New York Knicks to team up with Doncic. They could be in line for another blockbuster deal.
The Utah Jazz might be in a position to send Mike Conley to Dallas. This could be jumpstarted because of his hot start. Conley is currently leading the Jazz with 21.4 points per game. This could bring some extra value if Utah decides to make a trade. They have locked up both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert long-term which means they could clear up some salary moving forward.
These two teams are perfect trade partners if they decide to get something done. Here is a potential trade that might work best for both sides.
