Boston Celtics Receive: G Goran Dragic, F/C Kelly Olynyk, G Tyler Herro, PHI/DEN 2022 2nd Round Pick (less favorable)

Miami Heat Receive: G Kemba Walker, BOS 2024 1st Round Pick (Lottery-Protected)

Like the previous trade, this trade could not happen until late February at the earliest because of Goran Dragic re-signing with the Miami Heat this offseason, but this is the best trade package the Heat could offer Boston in the event that the previous two trades get turned down.

At 34-years old, Goran Dragic is nearing the end of his career, but in his 12th year in the league, he can still play at a high level and is still one of Miami’s best players. Last season, he averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 assists and shot 44.1% from the floor and 36.7% from three-point range in 59 games.

His ability to either be a starter or come off the bench is something you do not find a lot in former NBA All-Stars, but Dragic is a team player and is always willing to put the team over his personal agenda. This is why the Heat were so good down the stretch last season and why they ultimately made the NBA Finals.

With Boston trading away Kemba, Dragic could definitely be a sustainable point guard for them over the next few seasons as they look to either develop a young point guard for the future via the draft or look to acquire an established point guard via trade/free agency. In the end though, Goran Dragic will play his role with Boston perfectly and can easily be their third/fourth scoring option.

While Miami loves Tyler Herro, he could be the one young talent Boston has their eyes on. In the backcourt, outside of Marcus Smart, the Boston Celtics have virtually no scoring threats or three-point shooters. Rookie Payton Pritchard has been solid so far this season, but there is no telling if he has reached the peak of his career in college and if he will be a playmaker in the NBA moving forward.

Boston needs a reliable three-point threat who can play with or without the ball in his hands, which is exactly the kind of player Tyler Herro is. He has All-Star potential for sure, but with the Celtics, he would be a great complimentary player next to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and could ultimately evolve into their third best player.

Because Miami is giving up both Dragic and Herro, Boston would likely send a future first-round pick back to the Heat to balance things out on both ends of this trade. Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic, and a second-round pick for Kemba Walker and a future first-round pick is likely the best trade the Miami Heat could offer the Boston Celtics to land the All-Star point guard.
