Why the Trade Works for the New York Knicks
Using the strategy of simply waiting to see if recent NBA Draft picks will develop is one that clearly isn’t going to work for the New York Knicks. Lately, the team has been stuck in the mud among the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
The best way to get out of this hole is to make a splash for a star like Bradley Beal. He can shoulder the primary scoring load for the Knicks while also being an attractive player for free agents to want to join in New York.
By adding Beal into the mix, the Knicks’ young players would face an easier set of responsibilities offensively within the half-court offensively. RJ Barrett could flourish by having easier matchups and having less attention placed on him playing alongside Beal.
Trading for Bradley Beal wouldn’t turn the New York Knicks into an overnight success. It would at least present them with an attractive NBA All-Star caliber talent to help convince other stars to come play alongside him and help build a winner.
