Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Nets
For the Nets, it’s pretty clear why this trade would make sense. Giving up Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and three first-round picks would be nothing to get Joel Embiid. He is one of the best big men in the league and would change everything for Brooklyn.
Being able to have a post presence like Embiid who can space the floor would be ideal alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
The only concern would be whether or not Embiid would be willing to take a bit of a back seat to Durant and Irving. He has been the man with the 76ers. If he is willing to take a lesser role, this trade would work out perfectly.
Both Durant and Irving are capable of creating their own shots any time they touch the ball. They would also be able to create open looks for Embiid from the three-point line or in the paint. Embiid would have a much easier task to score the ball with the Nets as he has had with the 76ers.
Embiid is the ideal fit for the Nets if they could work out a deal. They don’t need any perimeter stars, but a big man is a need. This trade would supply them with that big man threat and put them in direct competition with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
