Nets Receive: Joel Embiid, Isaiah Joe

76ers Receive: Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2024 1st Round Pick, 2026 1st Round Pick

Embiid heading to the Nets would be one of the strangest moves that the NBA has seen in quite some time. Many 76ers fans would be very angry about this trade, but it could benefit Philadelphia in the long run.

This trade would be lucrative enough that the 76ers would have to consider pulling the trigger. Daryl Morey has always been interested in making big splashes and this would be somewhat the opposite. However, they would be able to focus on building around Ben Simmons and would get a quality big man in Allen to replace Embiid.

For the Nets, being able to form a “Big Three” of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Embiid would be impossible to pass up. That would immediately make them the favorites to win the NBA Finals.

Let’s take a closer look at this trade and why it could make sense for both the 76ers and Nets to pull the trigger.
