This out-of-the-box trade sends Paul George to Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors Receive: G Paul George

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: F Draymond Green, C James Wiseman, G Damion Lee, MIN 2021 2nd Round Pick (via GSW), GSW 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-3 Protected), GSW 2025 1st Round Pick (More Favorable Swap), GSW 2027 1st Round Pick (More Favorable Swap)

Now that is a massive trade package the Los Angeles Clippers would be receiving for Paul George! While it does not contain as many players as the Anthony Davis to L.A. trade, the package the Golden State Warriors would send to the Clippers would be very similar to that trade.

All three guys play at a high-level, but the most intriguing player the Clippers would be receiving for George is James Wiseman. Golden State selected Wiseman 2nd overall in this past year’s draft and he has started off fast this season. In 4 games early on, the rookie center has averaged 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and has shot 43.9% from the floor, solidifying himself as one of the early front-runners for Rookie of the Year.

With Montrezl Harrell recently signing with the Lakers this past offseason and Serge Ibaka being on the back-half of his career, bringing in a young big man like Wiseman could make a lot of sense for the Clippers and give them a star-caliber player to build with for years to come.

Damion Lee is also a high-impact player who does not get enough credit around the NBA. Lee is in his 4th season in the NBA and third season with Golden State. Last season, he had a breakout year given the Warriors’ injury problems and averaged 12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and shot 35.6% from three-point range in 49 games.

Everyone knows what Draymond Green brings to the table and with these three guys moving forward with Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka and Lou Williams, it sounds crazy to say but the Clippers could actually wind up in a better position.

Getting all this draft compensation in return for Paul George is also extremely beneficial as this team does not have a first-round pick until 2027 due to trades they have previously made. Paul George is one of the NBA’s top talents and while Golden State would be giving up a lot in order to get him, he could be the player they need to continue their dynasty.

Again, this trade is 100% hypothetical and the chances of it happening are very slim, but let’s take a look at how each team benefits from this blockbuster trade going down.
