This Sixers-Warriors trade pairs up Joel Embiid with Stephen Curry

Why the Trade Benefits the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have played the early part of the season with a lineup that is not ready to compete. Klay Thompson is out with a torn Achilles and Draymond Green has also missed time with an injury. This has forced them to start some role players who have not seemed up to the task.

Andrew Wiggins has been a disappointment early on. James Wiseman is a rookie and is still adjusting to the NBA while Kelly Oubre Jr. seems out of sorts. Golden State is a championship franchise and right now, they do not have enough on the roster to get there.

That is where this trade would come in handy. With a point guard in place, the Warriors could call about Joel Embiid. He is one of the best stretch fours in the game and would bring a new dynamic to the Warriors’ offense.

Golden State would have to send Wiseman away in the deal but prior to the draft, they were listening to offers for the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. This is the equivalent. It would be well worth it come postseason time.
