This Pelicans-Rockets trade forms a James Harden, Zion Williamson superstar duo

The New Orleans Pelicans have committed to their rebuild with their young stars on the roster. They could speed up the process by making a big splash move for one of the best players in the NBA in James Harden. It would be a complete shock to see the Pelicans work with the Houston Rockets in a trade.

James Harden has been linked to many teams this offseason in NBA trade rumors such as the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. One team we have not seen in rumors is the Pelicans. They signed Brandon Ingram to a long-term extension and have Zion Williamson in his second year in the league.

The Pelicans traded away Jrue Holiday at the beginning of the NBA offseason due to his age and contract situation. The Pelicans can shock the Western Conference by making an offer for Harden.

The Rockets have been fielding calls about their star for weeks now. Russell Westbrook was sent away early and the notion is that Harden was next. He requested a trade but nothing is happened just yet.

It makes sense for the Rockets to part ways with Harden given their new direction. The Pelicans are a good trade partner because of the assets they would be able to send back.

This deal would be complicated and full of many moving parts let’s take a closer look at what a potential deal might look like between the two signs for Harden.
