Why The Trade Benefits The Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks finally feel like they have their next franchise player. Trae Young is continuing to improve and look like the real deal in the league. Their free agent additions show that they are not going to sit on their hands as long as Young is on the team. They can continue to make big moves with this trade with Toronto.

Pascal Siakam has taken huge strides as a player over the last two NBA seasons. He is a player who has been on winning teams and could bring that pedigree to the Hawks. The experience could come in handy down the stretch. He has played with elite guards with the Raptors and knows how to interact with them on the perimeter.

Siakam and Young would be a tremendous duo in the East. If Atlanta is serious about contending for a playoff spot, this is a trade that could help them do so. In fact, it could help them make noise in the NBA playoffs, too.

It will not come cheap for the Hawks but it would be worth it. The front office better make sure it works though because if it does not, they have put themselves back even further.
