The Atlanta Hawks were one of the busier teams this NBA offseason. They were active in free agency adding players around their franchise point guard Trae Young. Now that the season has begun, they could still look to make an impact trade for an intriguing star.
Atlanta signed Danilo Gallinari in free agency. He is a player that fits in well on their roster and would help greatly moving forward. They also added Rajon Rondo who will act as a backup to Young and a great mentor for the next generation.
With Young and John Collins, Atlanta feels good about their roster but they could decide to flip one of them for a better player. The easy choice appears to be Collins when considering the NBA is a guard-centric league and Collins didn’t get a long-term contract extension signed.
This is where the Toronto Raptors might come in to play. In free agency, the Raptors made it a priority to resign Fred VanVleet to a new contract. They were able to get a long-term deal done and locked down VanVleet for the future. Kyle Lowry is still in Toronto, while Pascal Siakam patrols down low, as of now.
It would be a shock to see Pascal Siakam sent to the Atlanta Hawks as it would certainly be an upgrade. Let’s take a look at a potential deal that would help both sides.
