This Nuggets-Spurs trade sends DeMar DeRozan to Denver

One name that has been mentioned many times in NBA trade rumors is DeMar DeRozan. The current San Antonio Spurs star was rumored to be unhappy with the current situation surrounding the team but nothing has happened just yet. With the regular season underway, the Spurs could still look for a return for their veteran player.

The Spurs have begun their season with two wins in their first three games. This comes after missing the postseason in 2019-2020 for the first time in 22 years. DeRozan currently leads the team with 27.5 points per game over the first three. This is no surprise.

DeRozan is still one of the best mid-range players in the game. He is adding seven rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest as well. DeRozan is playing well in all facets of the game to begin the season.

This will only help San Antonio if they want to trade DeRozan. The Denver Nuggets would be a perfect fit for the veteran. Denver enters the season fresh off a Western Conference Finals appearance. It is believed that they could be one of the top three teams in the conference this season.

That is because of the elite duo of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. If the Nuggets want to take the next step and keep up with the Los Angeles Lakers, they could look to add another superstar.

This is where a trade for DeRozan makes sense for both sides. Let’s take a look and see what it might take for this deal to get done.
