Why the Trade Would Benefit the Los Angeles Lakers
The benefit for the Los Angeles Lakers a simple — they would get the best player in the deal and improve the team most in the shortest amount of time. With or without Victor Oladipo, the Lakers are going to be title contenders but this would just take them to another level.
If we had to nitpick and find one area the Lakers are weak, it is on the perimeter. Kyle Kuzma is extremely inconsistent and has been throughout the course of his career. LeBron James does most of the ball-handling while Anthony Davis dominates down low and in the mid-range.
The Lakers could use a two-guard who knows how to be aggressive on both ends and score all over the floor. This is what Oladipo is capable of doing.
Oladipo is an NBA All-Star caliber player who has had some bad luck in his career. He returned during the postseason down in Orlando and proved that he is ready to play the game at a high-level. Right now, there is no higher level in the league than the Lakers.
