This Clippers-Timberwolves trade forms a Karl-Anthony Towns, Paul George duo

When looking at potential trades over the last few weeks, there have been some names that have shown up many times. Paul George is one of those names but circumstances have changed with the Los Angeles Clippers recently. With the NBA season beginning, it is unlikely that a deal gets done but let’s take a look at possibilities.

The Clippers will begin the season against the Los Angeles Lakers. This is a nice test to see how close they are to the defending champs. The Clippers need to put it all together this year after a disappointing finish to last season.

In hopes of keeping their core together, the Clippers gave George a long-term contract extension that will keep him around for the long haul. There were talks of him being moved after an awful postseason but it has been quite the opposite.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that is attempting to put pieces around Karl-Anthony Towns. They made a deal for D’Angelo Russell last year and used the first overall pick on Anthony Edwards. This is in hopes of pleasing Towns and persuading him to stay around. A trade for George would continue their rebuild and solidify the lineup even further.

A duo of George and Towns would be extremely intriguing to watch moving forward. Here is a deal that could possibly get it done in the near future.
