Why the Trade Benefits the Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have recently won a championship but their window is not closed just yet. They are still one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference for the 2020-21 NBA season.

If Toronto wants to truly lean on Fred VanVleet, they could move him to the point guard spot and add pieces around him on the perimeter. This is where players like Gary Harris and Will Barton come into play. They are threats on the perimeter shooting the ball from deep.

Harris is the type of player that could take over a game on the offensive end if he gets the chance. This would not be a rebuilding move for the Raptors but one that could get them a return, including a first-round pick.

The Eastern Conference is more loaded this season than in previous years. This is because of the resurgence in Brooklyn and Miami. The Raptors will have to continue to grow and improve as a team moving forward.
