Buddy Hield, Sacramento Kings

Entering the NBA in 2016, Buddy Hield was viewed as a sharp-shooting guard who could be a playmaker for any team on the wing. After being traded to the Kings in his rookie season, Buddy Hield made a name for himself in Sacramento as he has averaged 17.5 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 41.6% from deep in four seasons with the Kings.

After being benched multiple times last season and not answering phone calls from head coach Luke Walton, Buddy Hield may want out of Sacramento. I mean who can blame him, the Kings have not been to the playoffs since 2006 and has been a place where careers go nowhere. Plenty of big name players over the years have left the Kings just to be a part of a winning franchise and Buddy Hield could be the next.

Buddy Hield is a great three-point shooter, but that is not all he can do. He is more than capable of being a reliable ball-handler in pick-and-roll situations and can be a great complimentary player next to All-Star level talent. He is not a flashy player nor a household name around the NBA but is more than capable of knocking down big shots when it matters for a championship-level team.

Any team that is on the verge of contending for a championship this season or within the next few years should definitely take a long look at Buddy Hield’s status in Sacramento because he is a high-level offensive player with plenty of years left in his career. Hield can be a core player for any team over the course of the next decade and with his shooting abilities, should be in the league for a long time.

If Hield does ask Sacramento for a trade, teams could potentially acquire him for less than they anticipated since his value would be low. He is not the best player on Sacramento’s roster and being frustrated, many teams could probably put together a trade package for him that would be a steal talent-wise.
