Miles Bridges, Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets took a big step this offseason as they looked for ways to improve their roster around their young core. After drafting LaMelo Ball third overall to be the team’s playmaker and point guard of the future, the Hornets were finally able to sign Gordon Hayward after years of pursuing him.

Back in 2017, the Hornets were a team that aggressively tried to sign Hayward in free agency, but he ultimately elected to sign with the Celtics. This offseason, Charlotte made it a priority to finally land Gordon Hayward and they did, signing him to a four-year, $120M contract.

The emergence of Devonte’ Graham last season as one of the Hornets best offensive players also puts this team in a very good position to succeed moving forward. With Charlotte doing everything they can to improve their roster and bring in high-level talents to compete in the Eastern Conference, Miles Bridges is an interesting name that could wind up being traded this year.

Last season, Bridges averaged 13.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and shot 42.4% from the floor, 33% from deep. He saw his minutes increase by 43% from his rookie season to last season and with the Hornets looking to add more All-Star talent to their roster, Bridges is a young, athletic talent that would make sense to be a part of a trade package.

Ever since he was drafted, there have been high expectations placed on Miles Bridges’ and while he never really rose to the occasion of being one of the stars of the Hornets, he can be a really solid and reliable role-player moving forward. At just 22-years old and having a lot of potential to grow into a solid, reliable offensive weapon, teams looking to trade an aging All-Star could be in a market for a player like Bridges.

As much as the Hornets would probably like to keep Bridges as he continues to grow into a great player, acquiring an All-Star level talent now may be too hard for them to turn down, especially after the moves they already made this offseason.
