7 players who could be traded before the trade deadline

This offseason, there were plenty of rumors about some big name, All-Star level talents being traded and while we did see players like John Wall, Russell Westbrook, and Jrue Holiday on the move, there are still plenty of moves to be made. This season’s trade deadline could end up being one of the craziest days in NBA history given the amount of talent that could potentially be on the move.

This year’s free agent class was one of the weakest free agency groups in the history of the NBA  and with not a lot of money being spent on free agents, teams may be more willing to spend money via the trade market.

Over the years, the NBA has changed in the sense that teams are looking to pair up numerous All-Stars in attempts to win an NBA title. We saw it with the Warriors bringing in Kevin Durant and now we have seen it with Anthony Davis teaming up with LeBron James in Los Angeles.

In the NBA today, there is at least one player on every team that you can point to and say they have NBA All-Star type talent, but it is not enough to contend in the league anymore. Teams are always looking to add talent, which is why some NBA stars could be on the move sooner than later.

One blockbuster trade that could happen at any point now revolves around James Harden and the Houston Rockets. The former league MVP and eight-time All-Star has made his intentions of wanting out of Houston known and he is doing everything he can to make sure the Rockets trade him to a championship contender.

Any way the Rockets handle the situation, they are going to end up being big losers because if they trade Harden, they are trading away one of the best players in the league, but if they keep him, they are sending a message to other superstar players that they are not willing to meet their player’s needs. Who would want to go to Houston and play for this organization if that is the case?

The James Harden drama has been the biggest storyline of the NBA heading into the 2020-21 NBA season and will likely continue all season long, even after he is eventually traded.

While Harden is at the forefront of the NBA trade market, here are 7 other big-name players who could be traded before the trade deadline this season.
