The Brooklyn Nets Are The Real Deal

When discussing NBA teams before seeing how it works on the hardwood, it’s easy sometimes to get too excited. With the Brooklyn Nets, that hype appears to be more than valid, and the way they throttled the Golden State Warriors is just the beginning.

The shot creation ability that both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant bring to the table is going to cause major damage to opposing teams. The duo combined for 48 points on 17-of-32 FG (53.1%), 5-of-9 3P (55.6%), and 9-of-9 FT (100%) with both superstars playing just 25 minutes.

It’s difficult enough to have to slow down a point guard like Irving, but having an explosive small ball power forward like Durant makes the game almost unfair. There’s not enough quickness in an opposing unit to get it done defensively while not having sufficient offensive firepower to keep up.

Let’s not forget, having a talent like Caris LeVert coming off the bench alongside some solid talent is simply unfair. He ended up pouring in 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in 25 minutes playing the Manu Ginobili role of being an overly talented 6th man.

This Nets team is not going to be easy to stop and while it’s clearly as early as it can be to make such declarations, they appear more than capable of making it to the NBA Finals.
