Why the Trade Benefits the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards gave the duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal plenty of opportunities to succeed. They have taken a huge step back recently and this caused Wall to be traded. Westbrook is now the cornerstone player and he might not fit in well with Beal.

Washington could use a complimentary played off the ball that would play well with Westbrook. Both Hield and Beal are dominant players and require the ball in their hands. We saw in Houston with James Harden that this does not work. Hield is a career 41.1% three-point shooter.

Hield would be an excellent weapon on the outside for Westbrook to kick the ball to. Also, Hield and Davis Bertans would be an elite shooting duo on the perimeter.

It is clear that the Wizards are heading in a different direction. Sometimes when a franchise gives players chances and it does not work out, they have to start over. That is what could happen in Washington.
