Can Luka Doncic Win The NBA MVP In His Third Season?

Not only is Luka Doncic good, but he is a once in a generation type talent who will make the Dallas Mavericks championship contenders for the next couple of decades. The 21-year old Slovenian is arguably the best player in the league under the age of 24 and took the NBA world by storm last season with his play.

This team is going to be very exciting to watch, mainly because of how good Luka Doncic is and how good he can still be. This season he will not only come close to averaging a triple-double over the course of the entire season, but he will elevate his play to a whole new level as a result of Porzingis missing time early on.

If the Dallas Mavericks are to be a legit playoff team in the Western Conference, Doncic will have to carry this team on his shoulder early on in the year. Given how talented of a player he is and the numbers he can put up, Doncic will be very much in the MVP discussion all season long and could wind up going from Rookie of the Year, to All-NBA performer, to first-time MVP.

Almost every season, the MVP award is given to a player that finishes on one of the best teams in the league, so for Doncic to win the award this year, he will have to get this Mavericks team to 45+ wins over the course of the 2020-21 NBA season. Doncic has always overachieved expectations in his professional career and should be able to do the same this year.

Whether he wins the MVP this season or not, Luka Doncic will win at least one MVP award over the course of his career and given his talents, he will once again make the Dallas Mavericks one of the best teams in the NBA. It is only a matter of time before the Mavericks are contending for championships again and if he has an MVP type season this year and Porzingis is healthy come playoff time, look out for the Dallas Mavericks!
