Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

After making the NBA Finals for five consecutive seasons, winning three titles in that span, the Golden State Warriors had a disaster of a season last year. Klay Thompson was out the entire year due to a torn ACL suffered in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals and Stephen Curry was also out for almost the entire season with a broken hand.

This year the Warriors were supposed to go back to their winning ways and prove they are still a dynasty, but then Klay Thompson suffered an Achilles injury in a workout that will keep him sidelined for his second consecutive season. All the weight falls on the shoulders of Stephen Curry to now come back and play at a high-level and if we know Curry, it is that he is going to put on a show for NBA fans.

If the Warriors have any chance to be a legit playoff team in the Western Conference this upcoming season, it is because of Stephen Curry and how good he actually is. Not too long ago, Curry won back-to-back MVPs (2014-15 & 2015-16) and was the first unanimous MVP in league history for his 2015-16 MVP.

Still in the prime of his career, Stephen Curry is the most lethal three-point shooter in NBA history and will pass Reggie Miller for second on the NBA’s All-Time Three-Pointers Made List this season and inch closer to Ray Allen’s #1 spot, which he will likely overtake in the 2021-22 season.

Not to mention, Stephen Curry has a chip on his shoulder this season coming off of his hand injury that kept him sidelined almost all of last year. With no Kevin Durant and no Klay Thompson, Curry is the man for the Golden State Warriors.

While other key players like Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Kelly Oubre Jr. will look to take some of the pressure off of Curry, the former two-time league MVP will have to elevate his game this season and play a lot as he did over the course of the 2015-16 season if the Warriors are to be legit threats in the Western Conference.

Do not underestimate nor count out the Golden State Warriors this season because as long as they have Stephen Curry on their roster, they are a legit title threat. This could be the year that Curry finally proves all of his doubters wrong and leads the Golden State Warriors not only to the playoffs, but potentially to the NBA Finals.

It is definitely viewed as a long-shot, but if anybody in the league can achieve this feat, it is most definitely Stephen Curry.
