4 bold predictions for Minnesota Timberwolves entering 2020-21 NBA season

Since losing in the Western Conference Finals in 2004, the Minnesota Timberwolves have made the playoffs just once since then in 2018 and have made 13 NBA Draft lottery selections in that time span. The Timberwolves have had just one winning season in the last decade, but things are definitely starting to change in Minnesota.

Last season, the Timberwolves traded for D’Angelo Russell at the trade deadline, a player they have been trying to acquire for years now, and they also ended up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Anthony Edwards joins the Timberwolves as the No. 1 overall pick and with two All-Star players in Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, things may finally start to come around for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves were very active on draft night as they not only were able to get Anthony Edwards, but they ended up with two solid role players in Jaden McDaniels and Leondro Bolmaro. With three first-round picks and a lot of young talent already on the roster, Minnesota finally has a young core to build with for the future.

This Minnesota Timberwolves team enters the 2020-21 NBA season as one of the youngest teams in the league, as Ricky Rubio and Ed Davis are the only two players on the roster who are 30+ years old, and they have a lot of growing to continue doing if they are going to be a legit playoff team over the next several years.
