The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are the two most storied franchises in the NBA. They have had endless success through the years, with LeBron James and the Lakers winning the NBA Finals last season, and that is continuing into the 2020-2021 season. Both sides have been linked to big-time moves, but they could pair for a smaller deal.
The Lakers made their improvements. They acquired Dennis Schroder in a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder and signed Montrezl Harrell in free agency. Both James and Anthony Davis agreed to massive contract extensions. This sounds like a full offseason for the defending champions.
As for Boston, they have not traded Kemba Walker and have not done much to improve their front-court. Tristan Thompson is now a Celtic and will join Daniel Theis and Robert Williams in what Boston hopes will be a strong enough group come postseason time. That was not the case during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat.
Both teams are always looking to make moves to improve their roster. There could be a potential deal to be had between them.
If the Celtics and Lakers were to make a move with each other, this is what the trade could look like.
