Why the Trade Benefits the Houston Rockets
As of now, no one has any idea what the Houston Rockets plan to do with James Harden. He did not show up for early practice is but has begun playing in preseason games. Apparently, this has not changed his stance on wanting to be traded.
Harden might be able to be persuaded by other big-time players coming to Houston, of course, if they actually fit. The experiment with Westbrook did not work. It is important to have Harden as the clear-cut No. 1 option within the offense.
The addition of Hield would keep Harden as the No. 1 player but also give him another weapon on the perimeter. Harden has upped his game in the assist column. He benefits from catch-and-shoot options on the perimeter and that is what Hield could bring.
Hield has turned into one of the better scorers in the NBA over the past three years. This will continue if he is traded to Houston because of the style and speed they like to play with on the floor.
