Why the Trade Benefits the Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers just signed Paul George to a huge contract so it is hard to imagine them trading him away. There were talks following their elimination from the postseason because of the performances, or lack thereof, they got from George. 

There is a feeling among some that Kawhi Leonard would benefit from George being traded away. He tried hard to get George to Los Angeles initially so it is all up in the air. The centerpiece of this deal would be the first-round NBA Draft capital.

The Clippers were forced to give up a ton in order to get George and could look to replenish. Also, Tobias Harris would complement Kawhi Leonard well on the perimeter. 

This is a classic thought when something goes wrong in the NBA. The Clippers did not win a championship so it is time to blow it up. If they do, it would completely shock the league.
