Myles Turner Leads NBA In Blocks For Second-Time In Career
Since coming into the NBA in 2015, Myles Turner has been one of the best shot-blocking centers in the entire league. He has ranked in the top five in blocks per game each of the last four seasons, including leading the league in blocks per game during the 2018-19 season.
While there have been a lot of trade rumors circulating around Myles Turner and his future with the Pacers, he is not one of the players Indiana should trade away. He has proven himself to be one of the best defensive big men in the entire NBA and is extremely valuable to how the Pacers play. Not to mention, Turner has the ability on the offensive end of the court to score in the paint or shoot from the perimeter.
In five seasons with the Indiana Pacers, Myles Turner has a total of 707 blocks and is averaging 2.1 blocks per game over the course of his career. He currently ranks 6th on the Indiana Pacers All-Time Blocks list and could inch closer to Dale Davis for 5th on the list this year.
The Indiana Pacers have found a lot of success by being a great defensive team over the years and this year should be no exception. If they want to be a legit playoff team and finally make it out of the first-round of the playoffs, Myles Turner will have to continue being one of the league’s best shot-blockers.
Expect to see Myles Turner elevate his overall game to a new level this season and be aggressive early on the year defensively. The Pacers need to make the most of their opportunities in a 72-game schedule, which could lead to Turner having one of his better seasons of his career.
