The Philadelphia 76ers have been in contention mode since landing both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid through the NBA Draft. Now, the Phoenix Suns have reached that same status after pulling off a blockbuster NBA trade to pair up Chris Paul and Devin Booker.
It’s not easy to breakthrough in the Western Conference with how loaded the talent pool is. The Suns have positioned themselves well to compete and potentially pull off a solid run. However, to being true title contenders, it may require them to add another foundational piece.

As for the 76ers, there is still determination needed to be made as to whether Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are a formidable duo long-term. The pairing has come up short consistently in the NBA playoffs but that’s partially been due to a lack of health.
With that being said, let’s take a look at a trade idea featuring the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers that would break up the Embiid-Simmons duo.
