The New Orleans Pelicans are going to be one of the most intriguing and entertaining teams to keep an eye on this season. They have Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and a ton of other young talents around them. However, making a move for a veteran might make sense to pair with Williamson and Ingram and Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry would be a perfect fit.
Lowry’s name was mentioned quite a few times in rumors this offseason. It is unknown whether or not the Raptors would even consider moving him. But, it is worth taking a look at how the Pelicans could pull off a trade for the veteran star.
Last season with the Raptors, Lowry put together solid all-around numbers. He averaged 19.4 points per game to go along with 7.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds. Lowry shot 41.6 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 35.2 percent of his three-point attempts.
One of the biggest reasons for a Pelicans trade for Lowry would be experience. Lowry has won an NBA Finals with the Raptors and he is known for his leadership and energy. Those two things could help propel the Pelicans towards being a potential contender in the Western Conference with all of their young talent.
All of that being said, let’s go ahead and dive in to a potential trade that would land Kyle Lowry with the Pelicans.
