This Clippers-Thunder trade reunites George Hill with Paul George

Why the Trade Benefits the Los Angeles Clippers

The point guard position is one of many reasons why the Los Angeles Clippers was unable to make it past the second round of the postseason. They were a team that seemed to lack flow during the NBA restart. This could have been due to the fact that Paul George and Kawhi Leonard were required to handle the ball much of the game.

This is not to say that George Hill is a big, game-changing guard, but he is better on the offensive end than Beverley. Paul George and George Hill have a history during their time in Indiana. Together, they helped the Indiana Pacers become one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and they could look to do the same with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers are clearly in a good spot. The addition of Hill would take some pressure off Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on the perimeter and let them play more off the ball. Meanwhile, George Hill is a knockdown catch-and-shoot threat that can provide floor spacing, defend at a high-level, and make plays off the dribble.

With the money Los Angeles just gave Paul George and what they could eventually pay Kawhi Leonard, this would be a smart deal to save them money. It would also lengthen the lineup and add more experience to the team.
