Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Bulls

On the other side of the trade, it is very obvious why the deal makes sense. Karl-Anthony Towns is the kind of player that can change a franchise. Teaming up with his former teammate, Zach LaVine, would give the Bulls a lethal duo.

For the past few years, the Bulls have been hoping to build their roster into a contender through the NBA Draft. They have put quite a few talented pieces together, but have not become a contender. Thankfully, by making good draft picks, the Bulls could flip some of their young talent to acquire a superstar like Towns.

Towns is not your normal big man. He can post up and rebound at a high level, but he has become a high-level three-point shooter as well. Many around the league view him as one of the most underrated stars in the NBA right now.

Even with this trade, the Bulls would have some quality pieces around Towns and LaVine. Names like Coby White, Patrick Williams, Tomas Satoransky, and of course Ricky Rubio. Those pieces wouldn’t make Chicago an NBA Finals contender, but they could build from there and players would want to join Towns and LaVine.

Chicago would have to give up a lot of talent and two first-round picks in this trade, but it would be worth it. If they could bring Towns in, everything would change moving forward.
