How the 76ers can trade for James Harden without Embiid or Simmons

Why This Trade Makes Sense For The 76ers

On the other side of the trade, the 76ers should not hesitate to pull the trigger on this deal. Being able to acquire a talent like James Harden does not come around very often. Not only would acquiring Harden be a huge win, they would hang on to both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Tobias Harris is not a massive game-changer for the 76ers. Harden, on the other hand, would be. In fact, it would likely be more difficult to part with Matisse Thybulle than Harris.

Granted, there would be concerns about the fit that Harden would have in Philadelphia. He is a ball-dominant scorer who may make things difficult for Simmons to fit in. Or, he could open things up for both Simmons and Embiid.

Philadelphia has been viewed as a serious contender over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, when the playoffs have come around, they have come up short. Harden would be able to help change that.

Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey are both all about winning. Morey’s history with Harden is good, which is another reason that this trade could make sense.

Harden heading to the 76ers makes a ton of sense for both parties. If Philadelphia is willing to offer this trade package, there is a chance that they could bring in one of the best pure scorers in NBA history.
