This Raptors-Spurs trade brings back DeMar DeRozan to Toronto

Why the Trade Benefits the San Antonio Spurs

DeMar DeRozan did not end up getting a long-term contract extension done with the San Antonio Spurs this offseason. Stuck in a loaded Western Conference, the team could be best suited to move on via trade. If the team is able to get players ready to contribute along with first round draft capital, that just makes it better.

This offseason would be a win for San Antonio if they could potentially trade DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. They could possibly be sent in the same deal but this one would just include DeRozan.

The Spurs will be getting back players ready to be thrown into the rotation around Murray. With Gregg Popovich running the show, there is no doubt that the Spurs will be back to normal in no time.

San Antonio missed the postseason for the first time in 22 years. This is some thing that will likely change in the upcoming years. This is a trade and that could change the dynamic of the franchise moving forward.
