This Warriors-Pistons trade would pair Derrick Rose, Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors suffered some brutal injury news earlier this offseason when Klay Thompson went down for the year due to a torn Achilles. Kelly Oubre was acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder to help ease the loss, but the Warriors could use more. Could Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose be a potential trade option to add more firepower?

Rose has been mentioned in a ton of trade rumors this offseason. He doesn’t seem to fit long-term with the Pistons, although they aren’t going to move him just to make a trade.

Detroit went out and selected Killian Hayes early in the 2020 NBA Draft. They view Rose as a valuable mentor for the young guard. However, if the Warriors come in with a good trade offer, the Pistons would not hesitate to pull the trigger.

Last season with the Pistons, Rose ended up averaging 18.1 points per game to go along with 5.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds. He shot 49 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 30.6 percent of his three-point attempts. Those numbers show why the Warriors could have interest in acquiring him.

Golden State still wants to compete this season and they have the pieces to do so. They may not win the NBA Finals, but they should not give up on the season just because Thompson went down with another injury.

Let’s dive in and take a look at one intriguing trade that would send Derrick Rose from the Pistons to the Warriors.
